Upon this day a year ago, I confessed to Szu Li that I was attracted to her. A year ago, I finally decided it’s time to let her know. Today is a special day for the both of us and speaking about it still gets me shy and thinking about it, embarrassing, but it’s worth all the effort and embarrassment felt by me.
This one year seem so long, it seems like we’ve known each other for years. We’ve been through ups and downs, good days and bad days, fights, arguments, discontent, disagreements, victories and losses. She has been there for me always supporting and encouraging and I play my part too, to support and encourage her. Not a simple task but we do it because we’ve grown to love and care for one another. We cherish all that we’ve been through; simply because of all these we’ve grown, wiser, stronger and deeper in love with one another.
We see each other’s faults and short comings. We experience pain and discomfort, love and joy and peace. Yet at the same time we’re still learning from one another, still learning to adjust to one another. I’m blessed to have to come to know, love and have someone like her. We’re blessed to have one another to love one another and to hold one another.
It’s challenging to sum everything up in a sentence or word but if I have to say it I would, it is all worth it and if I have to go through it all again I would and I wouldn’t change a thing. Each part, each struggle, each fault, each pain, each victory has it’s part to play, to have build us and our relationship to where we are today.
We’re not perfect as individuals and as a couple, we’re flawed, but we’re willing to learn. God has been gracious to us and His mercy endures forever. He has been there with us through it all with us walking with us showing Himself to us, His mighty works, and He will be with us forever and we want Him to be the centre of it all. Not a simple task to do and we’re not always perfect in putting Him in the centre of it all but we try and we’re willing to learn.
God has blessed our year together and I believe for the many years to come. Blessed anniversary sweetheart!! I love you!!
